WRITE A REVIEW ON SAMSUNG PIXON M8800

There are many mobile phones out on the market that are similar to the new Samsung Pixon. The differences between each of these are their operating systems and their prices. For Samsung, the Pixon mobile phone will join the i8510 INNOV8 line and will be vying for consumers’ attention against rival companies LG and Sony. The LG Renoir KC910 and the Sony Ericsson C905 are similar to the Pixon in that they are not smartphones.

However, the Pixon has an eight-megapixel camera along with a touchscreen, which allows it to compete against the Samsung Omnia i900 and HTC TouchHD with their five-megapixel cameras despite them being smartphones. No doubt that the camera phone is one of the most sought after feature on a phone so it’s with no wonder that the mobile phone market is fiercely competitive. This leaves you, the consumer, to decide which mobile phone, be it smartphone or not, is right for you.

Samsung Tocco Ultra

Putting its competitors aside, the Pixon mobile phone’s operating system lowers the phone on the INNOV8 range. While the operating system does hinder the phone’s decent features, how it looks makes better than the Nokia N95. After all, the N95’s looks are out of date especially when compared with the Pixon touchscreen casing.

For starters, there are three buttons that sit underneath the 3.2-inch screen that starts and ends your calls and allows you to access the menu screen. You can easily work the Pixon phone with a finger against the resistive touchscreen. There is no built in holder so the phone suspends from the case. The back of the phone holds the camera and when it hangs loosely, looks similar to a “point and shoot” camera instead of a phone.

You’ll love the eight-megapixel camera. To get to the camera side of the phone, you’ll have to navigate through the menu option and select the camera option. When you do, the lens cover is automatically flicked aside. From there, the screen turns to a viewfinder that gives you options to shoot your pictures or other tools.

You want the best possible pictures to come from your Samsung Pixon. For that, Pixon has certain features you’ll love including:

  • Anti-shake control
  • Auto-panorama setting
  • Face, smile and blink recognition

You’re also able to get DVD quality video along with a GPS feature. The GPS feature will allow you to geo-tag your pictures. All pictures are bright, detailed and full of color. This makes the Pixon on the same playing level as its competitors.

You’ll find that the operation of the Pixon resembles that of the Samsung Omnia i900 and the Samsung Tocco F480. You already know that the Pixon isn’t a smartphone, yet it does utilize widgets as seen in the i900. This means you can drag small programs from the sidebar to the primary home screen, allowing you some convenience and customizing your phone. No doubt the touchscreen improved since the Tocco F480 was released and you can scroll through it easily. However, there’s no automatic email set-up. Don’t let this scare you away from taking a gander at the Pixon because it’s quite simple to use.

There are other Pixon features that you are bound to love. These include:

  • DivX/XviD supported video player
  • MP3 player
  • A2DP Bluetooth
  • FM RDS radio (has office and organization tools)

Don’t forget that the Pixon phone has GPS but there is no Wi-Fi on this phone. However, if you want a phone that’s got plenty of multimedia action with a camera that doesn’t like much, then you’re going to want to purchase the Samsung Pixon phone.
