A recent new survey and research conducted by Ovum, global IT advisory and consultant, has indicated that the future mobile broadband markets will expect a huge growth in users and revenues.

According to the new research by year 2014, there will be an astonishing growth of global mobile broadband users from the current 181 millions (based on 2008 figures) to in excess of over 2 billions peoples. That’s a staggering 1100% growth rate from 2008. In term of revenues, that will be worth about $137 billions (£94 billions) worldwide. The studies showed that large proportion of the growth comes from the upgrade of the current existing mobile phone users, and from emerging market where users completely leave out the fixed line broadband and move toward mobile broadband services.

Based on the forecast of 2 billions users, about 13% (258 millions) of the users will be using their mobile broadband via a laptop rather than their mobile phone.
